Who we are

QBOID INC ("QBOID", "we", "us") makes handheld dimensioning devices, apps and the QBOID Cloud service for warehouses and logistics. We are responsible (the "controller") for the personal information described in this policy.

What this policy covers: qboid.ai, the forms and demo bookings on it, our emails and calls with you, support requests, and orders placed on our store at store.qboid.ai.

What it doesn't cover: measurements, barcodes, images and other data captured by QBOID devices and apps, and data stored in QBOID Cloud. The product privacy policy (opens in a new tab) covers those. For data you store in QBOID Cloud, your organization decides what is captured and we process it on your behalf.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Contact and demo forms: first and last name, work email, company, phone (optional), what you need to measure, and your message.
• Demo bookings: the time you choose, your email for the meeting invitation, and anything you add to the booking. To confirm
• Emails and calls: your contact details, job title if you give it, and what you tell us.
• Support requests to support@qboid.ai: your contact details, order or device serial number, and the descriptions, screenshots or files you send.
• Store orders on store.qboid.ai: name, company, billing and shipping addresses, email, phone, the products ordered and, for international orders, a tax ID. You enter card details into Shopify's payment service; we never see or store them.
• Email subscriptions: your email address and your subscription choices.

Information collected automatically

• Technical data sent by every browser: IP address, browser and device type, pages requested, and the referring page. Our hosting and security services use it to deliver the site and block abuse.
• Analytics and marketing cookies: only the ones listed in our cookie policy. If you are in the EU or UK, we set them only after you agree.
• Form and email activity: if you have accepted marketing cookies and then send a form, HubSpot links the pages you viewed to your contact record. Our emails may record whether they were opened and which links were clicked. To confirm

Information from others

• Authorized resellers and partners who pass your enquiry to us at your request.
• Business contact details you give us at trade shows and events.

We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health data or government ID numbers) and ask you not to send it.

Why we use it

For visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland, the "Legal basis" column gives the legal basis for each use.

We do not use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.

Who we share it with

We use service providers ("processors") that handle information only on our instructions and under contracts that protect it.

We also share information:

• with an authorized reseller in your region, if you ask to buy through one or your enquiry comes from their territory, so they can answer you; To confirm
• with our professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors) under confidentiality;
• with authorities, when the law requires it or to protect our rights, our customers or the public;
• with a buyer or successor if QBOID is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We will tell you before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Selling and sharing

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Counsel review

If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a request to opt out of any sale or sharing and as a refusal of marketing cookies. Browsers' older "Do Not Track" signal has no agreed meaning, so the site does not respond to it; use the cookie settings or Global Privacy Control instead.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies. Strictly necessary ones are always on. Analytics and marketing cookies are set only as described in the cookie policy, which lists each cookie, its provider and how long it lasts. Videos load from YouTube only when you click play.

You can change your choice at any time from Cookie settings.

International transfers

QBOID INC is based in the United States, and most of our providers process information there. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, your information is transferred to the United States.

For providers certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (with its UK Extension and the Swiss-US framework), we rely on that framework. Otherwise we use the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses, with the UK Addendum for UK data. You can ask us for a copy of the safeguards that apply. Counsel review

QBOID Cloud customers can choose a US or EU region for Cloud data; the product privacy policy explains how that data is handled.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above, then delete or anonymize it.

We may keep information longer when the law requires it, or to resolve a dispute or enforce an agreement.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and unsubscribe from our emails at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have the rights below.

US residents, including California

Residents of California and other states with privacy laws may have the right to:

• know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, and get a copy of it;
• correct inaccurate information, and have information deleted;
• opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising (we do not sell or share it; see Selling and sharing);
• limit the use of sensitive personal information (we don't collect it on purpose);
• not be treated differently for using these rights;
• appeal our answer, where your state's law provides it.

You can use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that they act for you. California residents can also ask about disclosures for direct marketing ("Shine the Light"). We answer verified requests within 45 days.

EEA, UK and Switzerland

You have the right to access your personal data, have it corrected or erased, restrict or object to how we use it, and receive it in a portable format. You can object to direct marketing at any time, and withdraw consent at any time without affecting earlier processing. We answer within one month.

You can also complain to the data protection authority where you live or work: in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office. We'd appreciate the chance to answer your concern first.

How to make a request

Email legal@qboid.ai with the subject "Privacy request", or write to us at the address under Contact us. To protect your information, we check your identity, usually by replying to the email address we hold for you. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link in any email.

Children

This site and our products are for businesses. They are not directed to children under 13, or the age of digital consent where you live, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Access to personal information is limited to staff and providers who need it for the purposes above, and our providers protect it under contract. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of information sent over the internet. To report a security issue, email support@qboid.ai with the subject "Security issue". Changes to this policy

We will post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also show a notice on the site before it takes effect, and email customers it affects.
